If you are searching for the perfect place in South Carolina to spend a weekend, then look no further than Myrtle Beach. A weekend in Myrtle Beach is more than enough for a fabulous vacation. Seize to de-stress and have a magical weekend in one of the most relaxing beach towns, where you can enjoy ocean-side activities, comfortable accommodations, and fresh seafood. Before visiting, I did not know much about Myrtle Beach but after my vacation, I fell in love with Myrtle Beach.
First things first, check into your hotel! We stayed at OYO Hotels in Myrtle Beach, and it was wonderful. Our bedroom was spacious, with beautiful ocean views and a large balcony to enjoy it. We had an attached bathroom which is helpful when traveling.

Start your day with a visit to the Brookgreen Gardens, where art meets nature. The breathtaking trails present something different at every turn, with stunning rows of Magnolia trees, bright yellow daffodils, and continually updated art displays. The gardens are not just gardens, but also include art and history. I was also happy to find beautiful, picturesque walkways lined with trees dripping in Spanish moss.
Enjoy the direct way to the beach and ocean or soak up the sun while swimming in the river. A 1.2-mile oceanfront boardwalk is a great place for a pre-dinner stroll, and restaurants like Art Burger Sushi Bar, RipTydz, Pier 14 House Restaurant, Landshark Bar and Grill, and others are all great for a vacation meal. After dinner, take a ride on the SkyWheel, play a game of skeeball at the Fun Warehouse if you want to indulge in any activity.
The Market Common is scenic and home to several fantastic restaurants. There are also nearby parks and multi-acre Savannah’s Playground, where dad could take the kids while mom shops. Best part, this place is easy-to-access from most OYO hotels.
Visit the Blackriver Outdoors Salt Marsh kayak tour. The tour takes you through the Murrells Inlet Salt Marsh and teaches you about the ecology of the salt marsh. The salt marsh is changing so you would not want to do this without a guide. You will likely see a handful of different types of birds on this tour, along with oysters, turtles, crabs, and more. It was an interesting and perfect way to enjoy the sunshine while also getting some much-needed exercise.
