Westminster Abbey

Buckingham Palace
Of course, you can’t miss out on the astounding Buckingham Palace. When you visit this historic site, enjoy gasping in awe at the lavish state rooms, and informing yourself on the lengthy history of our royal family! The palace gardens offer a beautiful area to relax and unwind, as well.
The Tower of London
The Tower of London has a beautiful history of crowns and jewels, but also the gruesome reality of medieval executions. This historic site greatly influenced Tudor History, and is now one of the most powerful surviving symbols of royal power! Built in 1066 during the Roman Conquest of England, if there’s anywhere in London to visit, let this be first on your list.
St Paul’s Cathedral
Originally constructed in 1666, St Paul’s Cathedral managed – rather impressively! – to survive the Great Fire of London. The architecture here is distinctly English Baroque, and you can climb hundreds of stone spiral steps to reach the top. Here, you’ll find an amazing view of London! This is a climb that will certainly be worthwhile.
Mansion House
Located pretty much above the Bank tube station, Mansion House rests perfectly in the city centre. This is the residence of the Lord Mayor of London, and its admirable construction is dated to 1846! Built by the talented architect James Bunning, visit here and stand in awe at the sky-high columns and intricate carvings.
The Fourth Plinth
If you want to brighten up your trip with a little bit of humour, consider visiting The Fourth Plinth! Although often overlooked, this is one of London’s funniest (and most well loved) historic sites. Take a look at the Plinth, situated in the four sides of Trafalgar square: it’s the perfect combination of historic value and artful design! Artists create amazing installations to lie on this bare plinth every year or two, the most striking being a gigantic blue cockerel.
