Everyone has lived a frustrating moment or two when the device (that encompasses your whole life) malfunctioned. As your device gets older, sudden crashes, connectivity issues, bugs, and other similar problems become inevitable. I am sure it feels like the end of the world, but I assure you it’s not. With a few simple methods, most of these errors can be fixed.

Top 5 Android Errors and Their Solutions

I, too, went through the same conundrum. My phone started giving me connectivity problems. At first, I thought it must be because of my service provider. So, I dialed Spectrum phone number and tried to locate the root cause. Eventually, I realized it was an error in the device itself. After a lot of digging, I found a solution and it worked. I am hoping that it will work for you as well. In case these fixes don’t resolve your problem, then it is better to visit a professional repair shop. In the worst-case scenario, you may have to replace your old phone.

#1. Quicker Battery Drain

Android users have often reported issues of battery drainage. There are several ways to counter this problem, and the easiest one is to change settings for screen brightness and location. It is better not to use the ‘auto-brightness’ feature of the phone. In fact, keep the phone’s brightness level close to or lower than half of the total brightness. Some devices such as many Samsung phones offer a built-in battery-saving mode which is actually a pretty decent feature. For the location settings, access your devices settings menu, click on Location, then select the battery-saving mode.

#2. Slower Interface

If you store too much data on your device’s internal storage, it is bound to get slow. Cleaning out unnecessary applications, images, or video files or moving them to online storage is always a good idea. Most Android devices support a microSD card and you can use that to store most of your data. Other solutions are deleting your cache of unused apps and limiting the use of live wallpapers. If you don’t know how to delete cached data, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open the settings menu
  2. Go to Apps
  3. Select the app for which you want to delete the cached data
  4. Click ‘Clear Cache’

That should do it. If not, you can use cache cleaning apps available on Google App Store.

#3. Device Overheating

There are a few Android devices that tend to get warm pretty quickly. It is better not to use the device while it is getting charged. Another way to avoid such issues is by limiting the use of apps that are too heavy for the phone’s CPU. For instance, games such as Pokemon, PUBG, or even social media apps like Facebook can cause your phone to overheat. Giving your device regular breaks is also good for your eyes. It’s like killing two birds with one stone. In case none of these solutions work for you, and your device gets too hot to touch quickly, it is better to have a professional take a look at it.

#4. Connectivity Issues

If your device is giving you connectivity problems, then you are not alone. If it is a Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or network issue, try to enable your airplane mode for at least half a minute and then turn it off. This should resolve the error. If it doesn’t, then simply rebooting your device may help. In case the issue persists, and it did not happen because you changed a setting on your phone, then the issue isn’t with your device. It may be wise to dial your service provider or your phone’s manufacturer’s service number.

#5. Frozen Screen

Another issue that triggers frustration is when your phone gets stuck or the screen stops responding. If you are facing this irritating issue, then the simplest solution is to hard boot the device. You may want to press and hold the power button and volume down button at the same time for at least 30 seconds or more. It will take you to a menu that says “Start” and may also show an image of an Android robot. Press the power button once more, and your device should boot up as usual.

To Wrap It Up

Almost everybody has faced at least one of these problems with their Android devices. Knowing a quick and handy fix can save a lot of time and money. I have faced 2 of these issues myself. Just the other day, while I was looking up Spectrum internet prices, my screen froze for at least a good 10 minutes. Until I gave it a hard reboot, my device kept giving me the same issue. Therefore, I’d advise those with similar issues to try these solutions before giving up.
